Free typing tools for Hindi, Urdu, Bengali & English — type Indian languages with your English keyboard

What is IndianTyping?

IndianTyping is a free tool for typing Hindi, Urdu and Bengali using only your English keyboard — type a word the way it sounds and get real Indian-script text instantly, no separate keyboard or software needed. Alongside language typing, it's also a full English typing platform: practice, a WPM/accuracy speed test, a step-by-step touch-typing course and weak-key drills, all free with no signup.

No. Every language tool on IndianTyping works phonetically — you type in English, the way the word sounds, on the keyboard you already have. There is nothing to install and no keyboard layout to learn.
Type a Hindi word the way it sounds using English letters — for example "namaste" — and the tool converts it to real Devanagari script instantly as you type. The same phonetic approach works for Urdu.
Bengali is in development. Hindi and Urdu are fully live today, each with a typing tool, a timed speed test, and untimed practice.
Around 40 WPM is a solid average office speed in English. Most Indian government typing tests (SSC, CPCT) ask for 30-35 WPM at high accuracy. 55+ WPM is considered fast, and professional typists and stenographers often exceed that.
Practice regularly without a timer to build accuracy first, then take a timed test to check your real speed under pressure. If you keep missing the same keys, Weak-Key Training drills exactly those keys using your own accuracy data — speed follows accuracy, not the other way round.
Yes, every tool is free with no signup, no download and no account required. Your practice history and progress are saved locally in your own browser.
